SCOPE

  • Development of Structural arrangements i.e. Buildings for PBR Registry Headquarter, PVR Lab, DUS depository
  • Developing sites for the assessment of DUS of FSC&RD at Islamabad, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Tandojam, Quetta and Peshawar
  • Developing Working Manuals for implantation support of Registry, Standard Guidelines for Examination of varieties and maintenance of Depositories;
  • Development of Technical Guidelines for Conduct of DUS trials;
  • Establishing digital databases of varieties for Examination of Novelty, Denomination and Variety Protection to support examination system of varieties
  • Establishing necessary databases, directories and library of relevant documents.
  • Prepare for Pakistan’s effective participation in various international fora on plant variety protection and related IPR issues;
  • Training of Staff of Relevant Institutions
  • 5 acres Land for DUS site identified at NARC Islamabad
  • Layout/mapping of site development and cost estimates done by Pak PWD
  • Site for PBR building, PVR Lab and DUS depository selected at NARC
  • Building design/lay out prepared by Pak PWD
  • Summary for approval of NARC land utilization submitted for approval of Prime Minister
  • Recruitment initiated last year but tests could not be conducted owing delay by PTS. Posts have been re-advertised on 6-2-2021
  • Case for purchase of vehicles submitted with Finance Division (committee on Austerity Measures)
  • Office Building for the Plant Breeders’ Rights Registry shall be established to house the office/employees of the PBR Registry
  • A model DUS center shall be established at NARC to conduct DUS trials at par with modern DUS assessment arrangements
  • Technical Guidelines shall be drafted to undertake accurate DUS assessment
  • SOPs and Procedures for establishment of DUS depository, Digital Database for Novelty Assessment shall be drafted
  • Employment shall be generated
