SCOPE
- Coordinated research to develop climate resilient, high yielding, disease resistant, heat & drought tolerant wheat varieties as well as innovative resource conserving crop production & protection technologies.
- Disseminate/popularize resource conserving, environment friendly good agricultural practice related to mechanized wheat planting, water saving, weed control, pest management and fertilizer application through subsidy and demonstration.
- Popularize/disseminate newly developed high yielding and disease resistant wheat varieties through public-private partnership to the farming community.
- To create awareness about wheat productivity improvement through mobilization of multidisciplinary research & extension based scientific resources using print & electronic media, field demonstrations and field days/meetings etc. to improve wheat production

- 59141tones wheat certified seed has been distributed to the farmers on 50% subsidy.
- Provision of weedicide to farmers on subsidy for 2.964 million ha
- 1820 demonstration plots have been laid out across the country
- Conducted NUYT Trials at 48 locations in Pakistan.
- 90 Mega Gathering/farmers days have been held.
- 353 field implement provided to farmers on subsidy.
- Advertised wheat yield competition in newspapers on 29.12.2020 for applying for Wheat Yield Competition.
- Technical Committee Meeting of PSDP project was organized on 27.01.2021.
National average Wheat yield is expected to be increased by seven mounds per acre (28 maunds per acre to 35 maunds per acre) through reducing yield gaps and increasing productivity and profitability through multifarious activities.
