Bottlenecks/Issues impeding progress on the project (if any)
  • Total allocation of the Sino-Pak project in the Current FY is Rs. 150.000 million and 1st Quarter release is Rs. 29.629 million.
  • A mega tender case amounting to Rs. 231.375 million is in progress for this project. The funds required for maturation of this tender exceeds the total allocation of Sino-Pak project for the current FY 2020-21.
  • It is due to a single costly item of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) machine which has to be purchased in the current financial year 2020-21. The financial bid has unveiled the quoted cost of Rs. 187.200 million for this NGS machine but funds available for this machine.
  • The other Research Equipment & Machinery in the current year are only Rs. 93.95 million. Hence, additional funds of Rs. 106.450 million are inevitable to purchase this equipment in FY 2020-21.
  • In view of above circumstances, it is requested that besides 2nd, 3rd & 4th quarter combined release of Rs. 123.040 million and the additional funds of Rs. 106.450 million may kindly be allocated for purchase of Research Equipment & Machinery please.
