SCOPE
- To develop infrastructure for office building of animal quarantine department, Karachi that will have administrative as well as public service delivery offices along with diagnostic laboratory in order to increase space for efficient working and public service by incorporating new resources and adopting technology to enhance the efficiency of the department.
- To ensure effective financial management, administrative and technical supervision/ control & guidance over the subordinate offices at Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad, Multan, Sialkot, Khunjrab, and comp Office at Kharlichi Custom Station through a purpose built infrastructure.
- To procure operational vehicles, machinery, equipment, furniture and fixture to replenish the depleting resources.
- To recruit professional project staff for efficient execution of the project activities.
- To improve and augment the process of organizational development with effective public service delivery, productivity and efficiency.
- To ensure government exchequer amounting to two million Rupees/ anum utilized in terms of rent liability for hiring of office accommodation.
The major financial impact of this project will be the saving of approximate 02 million rupees Annually that are utilized for maintaining an office accommodation. The project will attain break-even point in 20 years and will produce return on equity in the same period as the required cost of civil works will increase every passing year thus enhancing the construction cost of a new office accommodation in the long term.

| Bottlenecks/Issues impeding progress on the project (if any) | Issue of land acquisition between Department of Plant Protection (DPP) & Animal Quarantine Department has been resolved and DPP has been pleased to provide land in its premises and case has been submitted to ministry for formal approval of competent authority. Further, funds amounting to Rs.40.000 million has been allocated for said project, but so for during the current financial year, funds has not been released which may please be provided, so that civil work of the project may be started and progress may be made accordingly. | |
